Letting you team up with friends would give you an advantage over the other team if it were composed entirely of random players. Some players believe it’s not a bug, but a conscious design decision. There seems to be no official response from either DICE or EA, sadly. Since a lot of people have bought the game specifically having in mind playing with a group of friends, it’s understandable that they’re frustrated. Some have complained that they can’t even interact with people they’re playing with.

That’s all the information you need in order to lock on with missiles in Star Wars Battlefront 2. Immediately hit R1 again to launch a missile. As you do so, the reticle will begin to close in, eventually highlighting the enemy. In order to lock onto an enemy, wait until the opposing ship is in your sights and hit R1. These fire-and-forget weapons track enemy ships after being launched, as long as you’ve properly locked onto your target first. Starfighter ships are equipped with homing missiles in addition to laser weapons, which are devastatingly effective. Of course, players won’t be limited to just Tie-Fighter and X-Wing ships, with Battlefront II offering several different classes to chose from, each packing a different array of firepower. Once again, players will be able to bob and weave between massive Battlecruisers and missiles as they engage in a gorgeous rendition of the iconic Tie-fighter versus X-wing battles. Space combat makes a return in Star Wars Battlefront 2, having been excluded in favor of aerial combat within a planet’s atmosphere in the previous entry.
